Grey Water Purification and Grease Traps

Greywater encompasses all household wastewater that is not to do with the toilet (i.e. kitchen, shower, sink, and laundry). This so called ‘waste’ water is a valuable resource which can be utilised for garden and lawn irrigation to help maintain a well-watered and healthy garden (no summer water restrictions need apply!). It can also be treated for household reuse such as cleaning or laundry.
Re - using greywater provides a number of benefits including reducing potable water demand (reducing water bills) and also reducing the amount of wastewater discharged into the environment.
Greywater Purification Systems purify waste water through an organic process by which bacteria contained in the filter material (in the tank) breaks down the nutrients/contaminants in the water. Simple maintenance usually consists of annual replacement of the filter material.
Please click here for Greywater Diversion Systems. Approved Australia wide, these systems offer an alternative where Greywater Purification Systems are not required (i.e. re-use of greywater in the garden)
Benefits of the SEASystems Geotrap Purification Systems:
Simple, compact process
Low maintenance and operation costs
No need for pH-regulation
After a year (for a two person family, 6 months for a family of 4), the GeoTrap medium is replaced and can be composted.
Measurements: diameter 630 mm, height 500 mm, diameter of the base plate is 750 mm.
The GeoTrap Grey Water Purifier utilizes a natural mineral medium which captures the nutrients from the waste water. This medium contains the natural enzymes and microorganisms vital for the purification process.
GeoTrap has proven to have excellent results in purifying waste water in household use, for waste water from bathroom and kitchen. TheGeoTrap purifier has a capacity of 600 l / day.
It is good practice for a Greywater System to also incorporate a Grease Trap. Grease Traps are designed to remove oils and grease from kitchen waste before they can reach the Greywater System. This simply ensures that the Greywater System isn't overloaded with nutrients. The SEASystems' Grease Trap also uses a textile filter to prevent any solids (food scraps) from entering the system. This means the greywater is much easier to treat to a sufficient standard to be dispersed above or below ground.
Both the Grey Water and Grease Trap Utilize the same housing - ensuring maximum compatibility

Both Grey Water System and Grease Trap $995.00 each, a bag of GeoTrap Mineral medium is $50 (2 bags required per service)
